Hyde Park with Georgie. A mild but overcast October day exploring Anish Kapoor’s ‘Turning the world Upside Down’ installation in Hyde Park. It’s variety of over-sized mirrors that would probably have been more engaging if the sky hadn’t been so resolutely flat & grey when we visited. The C-curve - a large convex/concave mirror ) was the most interesting, affording unusually panoramic views of the park, or a view of yourself upside down, depending on where you stood. I liked the big gold statue of Albert much more, and the rich gold & red colours of the leaves on the trees, the wide tracts of unruly autumn grass and the horse-chestnuts scattered over the ground. Not to mention the cupcakes we snaffled whilst getting sprayed by the fountains.
